Does Snatching Kettlebells Hurt Your Deadlift?

Ever wonder if lighter exercises with higher volume might carry over to larger lifts? I wondered the same when I suspended deadlifting for 7 months in favor of snatching a competition kettlebell.

This video shows me deadlifting the same weight I did 7 months prior. I am also 30 pounds lighter (72lbsĀ  since October 2015) because I am on a ketogenic diet. So, this just assures me that my 48-year-old body lost no muscle using kettlebells with high volume in place of deadlifting.

I am now adding 3 sets of barbell deads once a week to see if I can actually increase strength with the high volume kettlebell training. I will let you know how that works out.
